“Carry Your Cross” Bishop Fred Bentley

Mark 8: 34 -35

The Word tells us “If you’re going to follow Jesus, deny yourself and take up your cross”. Bishop teaches us that we must take up our cross daily. Sometimes the cross is heavy and to some a burden. The cross of Christ is a symbol of suffering. If you’re going to advance the kingdom of God you have to survive. Deny and crucify your sinful desires, keep carrying your cross.

Bishop reminds us that carrying our cross won’t be easy. It’s going to be hard. Carrying your cross might hurt someone’s feelings. Carrying your cross will not get you favor with everyone, but you have to carry it anyway. Carrying your cross will get you favor with God and once you have favor with God, which is all you will ever need. Jesus carried his cross. It was heavy and hard. But Jesus kept carrying his cross because He knew Sunday morning was coming. When you’re going through it, and life is getting heavy and hard, just remember Sunday morning is coming. Tell the devil that’s bothering you to give you three days. The devil thought he had you beat on da two, but you will rise like Jesus did on that third day.

Bishop tells us the adversary is set up to take, take, and take. But if we would give it all to Jesus, the Lord will give you double for your trouble. But we must remember we might not be able to go everywhere others go because of the size of our cross.  Bishop preaches if your cross doesn’t fit, it’s time for you to get!!!
