“I made a Vow” Bishop Fred Bentley
Judges 11: 30-35
Bishop tells us that a vow is a promise. Bishop reminds us of a time when people kept their word and did as they promised. He says we’re living in a time today where Man does not keep his word. Man today has a tendency to change as much as the wind blows. But Jephthah made a vow to the Lord and keep his promise.
Bishop preaches that it is easy to make foolish promises in the heat of the moment. He says we should not make spiritual deals with God as he is not a game show. God does not wish us to make promises for the future but requires our obedience today. And God blesses you because of said obedience.
The Lord did not save you just to warm a pew. But you as a believer have to make yourself available. You have to be willing to be used. Bishop tells us there are many who have a desire to do great in the kingdom of God. But often times, they develop the wrong thinking and a wrong spirit because they feel as if they have not been given the opportunity and become bitter.
The Lord has placed great gifts in you, but because of a wrong spirit they have not manifested. You have to have a right mind, a right spirit, and make yourself available. And always remember you made a vow and you cannot go back.
